Katherine and Kara were home for spring break and we made pizza!  The pizza dough is really easy and only takes about 15 minutes, start to finish.  Here is the recipe.

Quick and Easy Pizza

1 T instant yeast
1 teaspoon honey
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt

1.Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

2.Mix all ingredients together.  Beat until smooth.   Let rest for 5 minutes.

3.Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a round. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan or baker's peel dusted with cornmeal. Spread with desired toppings and bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let baked pizza cool for 5 minutes before serving.

If you use the instant yeast, you don't have to mix it with sugar and water and let it dissolve.  I get my instant yeast at Sam's club for about $4.00 for 2 1 pound packages.  A much better deal than buying it by the little packages. And it works soooo much better!

So, if you did use the instant yeast just throw all of the above ingredients in your bread mixer and mix it all up. Until it is smooth. Now take it out and form it into a ball. Let it rest for about 5 minutes.

Now, divide it into 6 equal portions.  We doubled ours, so the pictures shows a whoooole lot.

Now the fun starts.  Give each person their chunk and let them form their own pizza.  Here is my son making his boomerang pizza.

Now add whatever toppings that you desire.
We had pineapple, ham, pepperoni, onion, green bell  pepper, and olives. Our families favorites.

And here is the finished boomerang, before going into the oven.

And, here is the final product.  Sorry, no pictures of the final boomerang. He ate it before we could take a picture.

I purposefully left out the veggies in the nutritional info, because I just think they are free.  The more the merrier!
