These looking absolutely fantastic! A splurge at our house for sure, but still, I think that I will put them on the menu.
My wonderful husband Corey made these for dinner the other night with some shrimp we found on sale at Sam's Club. He used cayenne pepper instead of chile powder and corn tortillas instead of flour, but they were the YUMMIEST things I've ever had! You must must must must must try them!

Spring Poached Chicken
Katherine and Kara were home for spring break and we made pizza! The pizza dough is really easy and only takes about 15 minutes, start to finish. Here is the recipe.
Quick and Easy Pizza
1 teaspoon honey
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1.Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
2.Mix all ingredients together. Beat until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.
3.Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a round. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan or baker's peel dusted with cornmeal. Spread with desired toppings and bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let baked pizza cool for 5 minutes before serving.
If you use the instant yeast, you don't have to mix it with sugar and water and let it dissolve. I get my instant yeast at Sam's club for about $4.00 for 2 1 pound packages. A much better deal than buying it by the little packages. And it works soooo much better!
So, if you did use the instant yeast just throw all of the above ingredients in your bread mixer and mix it all up. Until it is smooth. Now take it out and form it into a ball. Let it rest for about 5 minutes.
Now, divide it into 6 equal portions. We doubled ours, so the pictures shows a whoooole lot.
Now the fun starts. Give each person their chunk and let them form their own pizza. Here is my son making his boomerang pizza.
Now add whatever toppings that you desire.
And here is the finished boomerang, before going into the oven.
And, here is the final product. Sorry, no pictures of the final boomerang. He ate it before we could take a picture.
Nutritional info for 1 pizza, including 1/8 cup tomato sauce (mix in some italian seasoning), 1/4 cup cheese
and 1 oz of diced ham is:Calories: 401, Total fat 18g, Dietary fiber 5g, protein 19 g.
I purposefully left out the veggies in the nutritional info, because I just think they are free. The more the merrier!

Hi! We're Cindy and Katherine, mother and daughter, kitchen gurus, and health food lovers. Katherine is a dietetics major at Arizona State university and we LOVE veggies! However, realizing that our friends and family are not quite so enthusiastic about the little green, leafy, stringy weeds, we have devoted our lives to making "real food" out of health food.
Both of us have a very busy lifestyle. Cindy is a wife and mother of 6, and Katherine is a student, so we are left little time to dedicate ourselves to providing healthful, appetizing meals for ourselves and family. Therefore many of our meals are easy to freeze and save for quick and easy meals later on.
This blog is dedicated to just such recipes (or experiments) and ideas on how to improve health and lifestyle in a busy and changing world.
